Sgt Major 'Santa' Turner - Charity Ride-Out
MMT has adopted Little Heroes, a charity based in Bradford dedicated to children suffering with cancer. Mike Poad's daughter Rebecca is working there during her placement year whilst studying at Leeds Metropoltan University. In December 14 riders travelled to Bradford to deliver toys and £470.00 in cash raised through the efforts of students and staff at MMT. The toys were distributed to children in local hospitals in and around Bradford.
Santas ready for the journey.
The intrepid 'fourteen' about to depart. The temperature was around 5 degrees and when they all returned, hot coffee all round was gratefully received.
Easter Charity Ride
What a fantastic turn-out, 26 bikes and riders on a dry but VERY blustery day! Several 'new' riders (Jo, Bernie, Chris and Terry) alongside a few gnarly old guys (you know who you are), made the run to Bradford in aid of Little Heroes. We can't thank you enough for making the effort, a brilliant day topped off with a visit to Squires Cafe at Sherburn.
Watch out for details of our next ride.
New Yamaha Instructor Bikes
MMT have invested in 3 new Yamaha Diversions (supplied by David Sykes Superbikes, Peterlee) as Instructor bikes. This has enabled us to upgrade the Module 2 machines to include 2 Honda CBF 600's previously used by Mike and Iain as their personal training bikes.
Once Module 1 has been succesfully completed, our students will progress to the Hondas for Module 2 training sessions.
MMT Mystery Tour
We had a brilliant day out on Sunday June 27th. with a decent turnout of 18 bikes despite the football match later in the day! We stopped at Hartside for coffee after a steady ride up through Middleton in Teesdale and Alston. Unfortunately encountered a few 'crazies' on the ride up to the cafe! Lunch stop was at the Kirkstone Inn then down to Windermere, through Keswick, Sedbergh and then the final coffee stop at Hawes. Numbers had dwindled by then however the die-hards saw out the remainder of the ride and we all had a good day. Sadly 'Engerland' did not do so good, oh well, never mind, so sad!!
